ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY IS POETRY THROUGH THE LENS.To me, it is more than just a reproduction of light, colour and form, geometric links or graphic format, which we are used to seeing. The art of photography goes above and beyond capturing an irretrievable moment. It is the magic moment of meeting my subject that comes into the spotlight in my creations and which, in my best finished works, is inherent in the visuals.I have been a photographer since 1995, but with a more professional focus since 2009. Over the years my interest has developed in the direction of discovering the unusual, approaching unusual angles and points of view, which, until now, have been frowned upon or ostracised. Morbidity, secrecy, fear and the taboo entice me. I find that overcoming fear and challenging established values motivates me to not only seek out such scenes but also to produce them.I have been able to uncover the unexpected the allurement, the poetry of alleged abysses, suffering, conflict and adversity. Today, it is my inclination to illuminate the face and personality hiding behind the façade, beneath the superficiality; to seek the unpredictable, to depict my perceptions and thoughts. During the mediation between the photographed and the viewer, an authentic representation, as well as space for possible interpretations of the subject, is, despite mask and costume, crucial. This must be exposed before and captured during the photo shoot. Approach:Because of our media-rich society, Web 2.0 and optical sensory overload castings and production processes have changed. Casting agents are being ever increasingly disappointed by portfolios, which display a lack of attention, impulse or even inspiration.
